Dr. Shawn Burgs is a dynamic leader, educator, and minister dedicated to inspiring transformation through faith, reconciliation, and empowerment. With a heart shaped by her experiences as a wife, mother, ministry leader, and corporate executive, she seamlessly connects with diverse audiences, fostering growth in both spiritual and professional spaces.

The daughter and wife of pastors, Dr. Burgs has embraced her calling to develop ministries that edify the body of Christ and strengthen communities. Her passion lies in reconciliation—helping people rediscover their worth, mend broken relationships, and step into their God-given purpose. She believes the gospel calls us to heal wounds, bridge divides, and restore what has been lost, whether within ourselves, our relationships, or society at large.

Academically, Dr. Burgs holds an undergraduate degree in Communications with a focus on Journalism from Sam Houston State University. She earned a Master’s in Christian Education from Criswell College and a Doctor of Ministry from Lipscomb University’s Hazelip School of Theology, with a dual focus on Missional Theology and Spiritual Formation.

With over 20 years of experience in learning and development, Dr. Burgs has made a lasting impact in post-secondary academia and the corporate sector. She currently leads learning and development initiatives at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where she combines her expertise in training, facilitation, and mentorship to empower leaders and organizations.

As the Leading Lady of Mount Tabor Baptist Church, Dr. Burgs is devoted to equipping individuals—especially women—to walk boldly in faith, leadership, and purpose. She envisions Mount Tabor as a beacon of reconciliation in Miami, embodying love in action and fostering unity across communities. With a deep commitment to empowering others, she seeks to cultivate spaces for healing, transformation, and spiritual renewal.

Above all, Dr. Shawn Burgs is a devoted follower of Christ, a passionate advocate for justice and reconciliation, and a voice for those longing to step into their full potential. She stands alongside her husband, Rev. De’Andre D. Burgs, in leading Mount Tabor Baptist Church into a new season of impact, growth, and divine purpose
